We have another busy week here at Hillcrest, so we thought you parents might appreciate an update!
First, please don’t forget the annual Patrons’ — that’s you, parents and guardians! — Meeting in the high school gym beginning at 6:30 tonight. We are more than half way finished with this school year, so tonight’s meeting is an important time to catch up on several issues. It will feature briefings from the Board, previews of an upcoming marketing campaign and our next year’s enrollment push, and the unveiling of our school’s new smartphone app. Not to mention, our Cougar cheerleaders and the One Spirit One Sound band will perform, and that is always a treat!
Along with the meeting, the Uniform Resale Store is open today from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the junior high building; it’s a sometimes aggravating fact that children tend to grow, so if you have or need any new sizes to finish the school year, this is the perfect opportunity to take care of that.
Then, tomorrow night is Senior Night for the basketball season. Please come support our Cougars on the court as they face off against Winston here at home. It will also be a bittersweet night as we spotlight and bid farewell to our senior team members; the varsity girls will be featured first, approximately around 6:00 PM.
Also this week: The high school Envirothon team will compete Wednesday, and they’re on a mission to bring the state trophy back to Hillcrest. On Thursday the JV basketball teams will miss school in order to participate in a tournament at Parklane. Finally, the varsity basketball teams will play at PCS on Friday beginning at 6:00 PM.
One more upcoming event to note… Please be in prayer for and spread the word about our first Open House next week — February 15th from 8:00 AM to Noon — for prospective students in grades K3 through 6th. HCS has so much to offer to families in the surrounding communities and beyond, and we want to share not only our outstanding academic and athletics programs, but more importantly, the love of our Savior with as many children as possible. Cougar families, please help by telling those who need us that they have a home at Hillcrest.
