With Homecoming TODAY — Friday, September 22nd — students, alumni, and other members of the Hillcrest family have many questions about activities and expectations. Here is your go-to source for all things Homecoming-related:

Upper School Dress-up Days:
Monday – Tacky Tourists
Tuesday – Cowboys vs. Indians
Wednesday – Patriotic Day
Thursday – Athletes vs. Math-letes
Friday – Spirit Day
Class Competitions: Each day there will be games in which the Upper School classes will compete for points. At the end of the week, points are tallied from dress-up days, games, and floats, and first and second place winners overall are decided; these classes will receive a yet-to-be-decided prize later in the school year.
Class Dues: The dues for every member of each grade are $10 and can be given to the Secretary / Treasurer or to the President of your grade. Any extra funds go into the class account for future class events.
Floats: Two grades will work together to design, construct, and decorate a total of 3 floats for the parade which begins at 11:10 AM on Friday. Student Council members are responsible for coordinating work days and times and for finding an adult driver to pull trailers/floats. Contact the following Class Presidents for more information:

10th & 7th Grades – Ashley Myers (7th grade does not elect class officers.)IMPORTANT! Friday Class Schedule: Students are expected to attend class as usual until 11:05 AM, and attendance will be taken. Cheerleaders, football players, band members, Homecoming maids, and float riders will be dismissed at 10:50 AM to get lined up for the parade. Students will have had weeks to construct and complete their floats and will not be allowed to continue to work on them Friday. All students must remain in class until they are officially dismissed. The pep rally will begin immediately after the parade is finished and will take place in the high school gym.
High School Dance: Held in the high school gym from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
*Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door and can be purchased from Mrs. Browning.
*If a student’s date does not attend Hillcrest, prior approval must be given for his/her attendance by the principal. Forms for outside dates are available from the front office and are due NO LATER THAN Tuesday, September 19th and can be turned in at the front office.
*Suggested attire is dressy-casual; semi-formal is acceptable, but not required. All dress should be modest and appropriate. HCS teachers and administration (chaperones) reserve the right to refuse admission to a student and/or guest if dressed inappropriately.
*No parents are allowed inside the gym an hour before or during the dance.
Junior High Dance: Held in the elementary gym from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
*Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door and can be purchased from Mrs. Harwell.
*Only 7th and 8th grade Hillcrest students are allowed to attend — no older dates, and no dates from other schools.
*Suggested attire is dressy-casual; semi-formal is acceptable, but not required. All dress should be modest and appropriate. HCS teachers and administration (chaperones) reserve the right to refuse admission to any student dressed inappropriately. Students who would like a place to dress after the game (in order not to have to go home and miss much of the dance) will be accommodated.
*No parents are allowed inside the gym 30 minutes before or during the dance.
